The Influence of Traffic-Related Air Pollution (TRAP) in Primary Schools and Residential Proximity to Traffic Sources on Histone H3 Level in Selected Malaysian Children

چکیده
This study aimed to investigate the association between traffic-related air pollution (TRAP) exposure and histone H3 modification among school children in high-traffic (HT) low-traffic (LT) areas Malaysia. Respondents’ background information personal traffic sources were obtained from questionnaires distributed randomly selected children. Real-time monitoring instruments used for 6-h measurements of PM10, PM2.5, PM1, NO2, SO2, O3, CO, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). Meanwhile, 24-h PM2.5-bound black carbon (BC) performed using sampling pumps. The salivary level was captured an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HT schools had significantly higher BC, TVOC than LT schools, all at p < 0.001. Children area more likely get levels (z = −5.13). There positive weak correlations concentrations NO2 (r 0.37), CO 0.36), PM1 0.35), PM2.5 0.34), SO2 PM10 0.33), O3 0.25), BC 0.19). Overall, this proposes possible role interpreting effects TRAP via non-genotoxic mechanisms.

Traffic-related Air Pollution and Attention in Primary School Children
BACKGROUND Although air pollution's short-term effects are well understood to be marked and preventable, its acute neuropsychological effects have, to our knowledge, not yet been studied. We aim to examine the association between daily variation in traffic-related air pollution and attention. METHODS We conducted a follow-up study from January 2012 to March 2013 in 2,687 school children from ...

Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase Promoter Haplotypes and Residential Traffic-Related Air Pollution Jointly Influence Exhaled Nitric Oxide Level in Children
BACKGROUND Exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), a biomarker of airway inflammation, predicts asthma risk in children. We previously found that the promoter haplotypes in inducible nitric oxide synthase (NOS2) and exposure to residential traffic independently influence FeNO level. Because NOS2 is inducible by environmental exposures such as traffic-related exposure, we tested the hypothesis that common ...

quite well. In six of the seven false negative US examinations, chest CT identified malignancy based on parenchy-mal opacities, adenopathy or the identification of metastatic disease. Although well conducted, there are several methodological issues that may limit generalisability of the results. First, there was a high incidence of MPE (especially mesothelioma) in this study population. The pro...
متن کاملAssociation between Traffic-Related Air Pollution in Schools and Cognitive Development in Primary School Children: A Prospective Cohort Study
BACKGROUND Air pollution is a suspected developmental neurotoxicant. Many schools are located in close proximity to busy roads, and traffic air pollution peaks when children are at school. We aimed to assess whether exposure of children in primary school to traffic-related air pollutants is associated with impaired cognitive development. METHODS AND FINDINGS We conducted a prospective study o...
